So here goes. I've entered the world of blogging. I don't know how good I'm going to be at keeping this up but I'm going to try. This might be pretty theraputic when Josh deploys this fall. Just a spot to vent and rant about the every day life of a SAHM.
Life as of now is pretty normal. At least as normal as one would hope. I've started talking to Sage about Daddy leaving in October and going to Afghanistan and how he's going to be gone for a whole year but I don't think she fully understands exactly what I'm saying as of yet. We talked last night about the different things that we can do for Mommy/daughter time when he's away and the different things that we can send Daddy while he's gone. First on her list was to walk around New Orleans, eat beignets and ride the street car. Yep, she's Momma's girl all right! I keep talking to her and praying that it'll make things easier for when the time comes and he does deploy. She knows he's leaving and that he won't be home for a long time. She knows that we'll only be able to talk to Daddy when he calls and that we can't call him whenever we want like we do now when he's offshore. I think it's going to be really hard on her when the time actually comes and she realizes that he's not coming home in 2 weeks like he does now when he leaves for work. But hopfully I'm preparing her as best I can and we'll get through it together. As of right now we're getting ready for her kindergarten graduation, Disney World vacation and her 4th year dance recital. I can't believe she's been dancing 4 years already! Seems like yesterday that she was in her 1st year! I cry every year at recital and I'm pretty sure that this year will be no different. She's so excited about Disney. And it's not just about 1 thing in particular either. She's excited about the plane ride, getting to see all the characters and princesses and getting her own fairy godmother to help make her over for a day. Can't wait to get away for a week and relax. I plan on leaving the phone in the hotel room and escaping reality for an entire week. One solid week of nothing but my husband, daughter and Mickey! 20 days and a wakeup and I'll be on the plane. It can't get here fast enough.
